SERENITY & NATE

Serenity and Nate were married in The Gardens of Fox Hollow

The Fox Hollow, east of Fayetteville, NC, is the private home of Kathy & Daniel Fitch.

The whole design and the layout of the grounds represent kind of a quite, gentile, tranquil setting that would be found int the rural countryside of England or France.

The 22 acres, design and transformed by Daniel Fitch into a Great Gatsby-esque estate, complete with French Tudor-style buildings and gardens reminiscent of Old World Europe.

Received this nice recommendation from a couple I just married:

"Rev. Darlene married my husband and I at our home, and it truly felt like we had known her for years. She invited us to her home for a meeting with us prior to marrying us and made us feel so comfortable. She was on time on our wedding day and took the time to come upstairs to give me a hug before the wedding, and blessed the food for the reception. When we got back from our honeymoon, we already had a copy of our signed marriage license that she had mailed to us and the courthouse. I highly recommend Rev. Darlene as the marriage officiate for anyone.  Lashunda and Jeffery Monroe"

A very special wedding gift

Bridal expo contest winners get a special wedding in Fayetteville
www.fayobserver.com

Kimberly Crumpler and Scott Gonzales stood in front of about 50 friends Sunday, exchanging vows in a wedding ceremony they won five days earlier.  Crumpler said she and Gonzales who got engaged in December, had been having trouble decide how they wanted to get married.

It was kind of back and forth about how we wanted to handle it she said "and I saw that and said, 'Well, this could decide it for us'.

Kimberly Crumpler and Scott Gonzales exchange vows Sunday at the Holiday Inn Bordeaux, married by Rev. Darlene Liedig

Paula Jones of Celebrations Wedding and Events said she had been asked by the Holiday Inn Bordeaux to stage a ceremony room to for a Bridal Expo it hosted Sunday.

I'm looking at the cost, and the time and the energy that went into it, she said "and I said, 'What a shame it would be for this room to go to waste'.

So she posted the contest to her Facebook page last Sunday, giving the brides 24 hours to send in three reasons why they should win the ceremony.  The Holday Inn's sales and marketing department selected the winning response.

It's not that we deserve it any more than anyone else but it's just a testimony that you can find love at any age, at any time of your life", Crumpler said.

Sunday's ceremony marked the second marriage for both Crumpler, 48 and Gonzales, 49, each of whom has two children.

Crumpler got the news she won Tuesday evening.

I didn't have a dress until Friday, because with all the snow and stuff it was kind of hard to get out, 'Crumpler said.

Crumpler, who works with South River Electric Utility, and Gonzales, a lieutenant with the Fayettevlle Fire Department, met through a mutual friend last April.

"We just hand a connection from day one," Crumpler said.

The day after Christmas, Gonzales gave Crumpler an engagement ring, which he wrapped in six boxes, each in a different wrapping paper.

When they found out last week they would be getting married Sunday, everything began to fall into place, haircuts, dresses an mass texts to notify friends and family.

Gonzales said the couple will now have extra time and money to devote to planning a honeymoon at some point over the summer.

Jones planned and directed the wedding and decorated the ceremony room, said many vendors joined forces to make the wedding happen, including wedding minister Darlene Liedig, Five Star Entertainment with ceremony music and room lighting, Carolina Convention Services with pipe and drape to line the room in white, Owens and Bordeaux Florist with bridal party flowers, George Joell III wit photography, Carmen Johnson of Flawless Vision with hair and makeup, Your Celebration Time with balloons at the entrance and Doves Above with dove release.

Despite the suddenness of the ceremony, Gonzales said the short notice didn't really mean moving much fast for the couple.

"Today, tomorrow, the next day-----we both know what we want in our lives, and that's one of the things that attracted me to Kim so much." Gonzales said.  "It's not very often your can meet someone and have a common ground to understanding."

Get Ready for the New Year! The Hottest 2014 Wedding Trends

Posted by Allison | December 26, 2013 WeddingWire

As 2013 comes to a close, the WeddingWire Editorial team is celebrating the launch of our WinterBook (yay!) and looking ahead to the upcoming wedding season. There are several wedding trends that started to emerge this year that we think are going to be big in 2014. So to help you prepare for those 2014 couples, check out our list of 2014 wedding trends!

Metallic Color Schemes
From wedding dresses to stationery, linens to cakes, expect to see a lot of gold and silver next year! We saw metallic wedding dresses at New York Bridal Market, and think this trend will carry over into décor, as well.

Art Deco
Inspired by The Great Gatsby (both the book and the 2013 movie), we’re expecting to see lots of 1920s-era décor and themes in 2014.

Unique Entertainment
Photobooths have been popular at weddings for a while now, but expect to other types of “alternative entertainment” next year. We’re thinking Slow-Motion Video Booths, I Spy or Mad Libs, lots of lawn games, and much more! Check out some of our favorite guest entertainment ideas here!

Halter Neckline Wedding Dresses
See ya later, strapless! Halter necklines were all over the runways this season. It’s a great look for brides who want to show off some gorgeous shoulders.

Radiant Orchid
Pantone just announced the Color of the Year for 2014, and it’s Radiant Orchid – a pretty pinky-purple that is a beautiful hue for wedding décor. Purple was the hot hue a few years back, so is it making a comeback? We’ll soon find out!

Custom Hashtags
Gone are the days of placing disposable cameras on guest tables – now it’s all about the Instagram hashtag as a means of collecting guest photos! Couples are creating signs to inform guests of their Instagram hashtags (#nickandsara for example) so that all of the photos of their wedding will be easily accessed.

Dahlias
We’re predicting that this beautiful bloom will be the hot flower for 2014. They come in a wide variety of colors and create such a lush, unique look!

“Naked” Wedding Cakes
We’re not trying to be crass here, but wedding cakes without any icing are becoming a quite the trend for rustic, casual weddings.

Hanging Décor
From lanterns to flowers to ribbons, crepe paper, even parasols – couples are clamoring for décor hanging from the ceiling! It’s a striking and dramatic look that turns the traditional centerpiece upside-down!

Bridesmaid Dress Color = Mint
Pale green bridesmaid dresses were all over the runways at bridal market, so expect to see this minty fresh color at spring and summer weddings in 2014!
